Abstract

  • The number of passengers through sea transportation fell by 21.73 percent from 26,275 people (December 2018) to 20,566 people (January 2019).
  • Sea freight traffic rose 26.63 percent from 1.24 million tons (December 2018) to 1.57 million tons (January 2019). The increase occurred in the unloading volume of goods (29.37 percent) and cargo loading (25.68 percent).
  • Flight frequency dropped 9.86 percent from 1,836 flights (December 2018) to 1,655 flights (January 2019).
  • The number of passengers through air transportation fell 11.29 percent from 153,756 people (December 2018) to 136,402 people (January 2019).
  • The flow of goods traffic through the air also fell 8.59 percent from 1,817 tons (December 2018) to 1,661 tons (January 2019). The decrease came from the volume of unloading of goods (6.62 percent) and loading of goods (11.73 percent).
  • Through seaports, passenger activity is concentrated in Kumai (68.61 percent) and goods in Sampit (52.46 percent). While through the airport, it is still concentrated in Tjilik Riwut, both passenger activities (46.10 percent) and goods (53.04 percent).
