Abstract

CPI monitoring of 82 cities nationwide, 78 cities experienced inflation and four cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Manado, at 2.86 percent and the highest deflation in Bau-Bau by 1.54 percent.
The city of Palangkaraya and Sampit respectively experienced an inflation of 0.18 percent and 0.67 percent, ranks 70th and 21st city's highest inflation at the national level.
Inflation of Palangkaraya mainly influenced by the price index increase in expenditure of education, recreation and sports (0.58 percent), foodstuffs (0.39 percent), health (0.28 percent), food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.22 percent), and transportation, communications, and financial services (0.13 percent).
Inflation of Sampit mainly influenced by the increase in the price index in the group of food expenditure (1.25 per cent), clothing (1.20 percent), health (1.14 percent), food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.64 percent ), transportation, communications and financial services (0.62 percent), and education, recreation and sports (0.02 percent).
Inflation/deflation in Kalimantan Tengah is a combination of the two cities (Palangkaraya and Sampit). During November 2016 there is an inflation of 0.35 percent. Calendar year inflation rate of 0.81 percent and the rate of inflation "year on year" of 1.86 percent.
Inflation/deflation nine CPI cities in Kalimantan region include Tanjung (1.85 percent), Sampit (0.67 percent), Tarakan (0.38 percent), Samarinda (0.28 percent), Palangkaraya (0.18 percent) , Balikpapan (0.12 percent), Banjarmasin (0.11 percent), Pontianak (0.07 per cent), and Singkawang (0.05 percent)
