Simultaneous Grand Rice Harvest Across Indonesia

The Governor of Central Kalimantan, Agustiar Sabran, attended the grand rice harvest event held on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Pantik Village, Pandih Batu Sub-district, Pulang Pisau Regency.

This harvest was part of a nationwide simultaneous event conducted across 14 major rice-producing provinces in Indonesia. The event, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, was also witnessed virtually by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, from the main location in Majalengka Regency, West Java. In his address delivered virtually, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in maintaining the stability of staple food prices, ensuring affordability for the public ahead of upcoming religious holidays.

The President also extended high praise to farmers, whom he referred to as the backbone of the nation. He emphasized the vital role of farmers as food producers, a critical component for national survival. "Without food, there is no nation. Without food, there is no Republic of Indonesia," he firmly stated. Also present at the event were the Head of BPS Central Kalimantan Province, Agnes Widiastuti, along with the Head of BPS Pulang Pisau Regency, Oo Suharto, and the Head of BPS Kapuas Regency, Ahmad Nasrullah. Prior to the event, the crop-cutting survey team from BPS Pulang Pisau had conducted field measurements to assess rice productivity at the harvest site.

In addition to BPS representatives, several officials accompanied Governor Agustiar Sabran at the grand harvest, including representatives from the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Andi Nur Alamsyah, Pulang Pisau Regent Ahmad Rifai, Kapuas Regent Wiyatno, Katingan Regent Saiful, Vice Regent of Gunung Mas Efrensia L.P. Umbing, Head of the Central Kalimantan Regional Office of BULOG, Budi Sultika, and several heads of provincial government agencies.
